We work with partner organisations in India and Nepal to improve health and education services for disadvantaged rural communities who are often excluded from mainstream society and have little or no access to schools and health care facilities. We support them to manage and claim their rights to access their natural resources and build sustainable livelihoods.
In India, we work with local partner organisations in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Odisha, Tamil Nadu and Uttaranchal. We do this by placing international volunteers and development workers to share their skills, by accessing funding for projects and by enabling our local partners to share learning and work together.

In March 2010, we ran a leadership development workshop for the Women's Development Training Centre (WDTC) in Nepal and several of their partners. In addition to leadership development training, Skillshare International also supports the WDTC by providing a development worker as a Gender Advisor to the organisation. Skillshare development worker Eri Taniguchi is working with WTDC to implement and embed learning from the workshop based programme.
