In 2011, Nathaniel Gabriel-Ellis, 21 and from Romford in Essex, spent three months in South Africa on an ICS placement with Skillshare International. Nathaniel jetted off to Cape Town in June as part of a team of volunteers working on our Coaching for Hope programme and supporting local sport for social change partners.
During his placement, Nathaniel ran activities for vulnerable young people to help them develop important life skills and raise awareness of issues such as sexual health and substance misuse.

Nathaniel volunteered with Skillshare International as part of the International Citizen Service initiative, funded by the Department for International Development. ICS gives volunteers aged 18-22 the opportunity to spend three life-changing months working on projects designed to bring about lasting change.
