Improving health through education in India

James Byrne spent three months volunteering in India, where he taught children about basic hygiene techniques that could help prevent serious illness.

During his placement at the Indian Society for Life Development, James shared his time, energy and skills to help raise awareness of HIV and other health issues through education.

Watch James' video to find out more about what he gained from the placement and his proudest moment...

James volunteered on Skillshare International's sustainable livelihoods programme as part of the International Citizen Service initiative, funded by the Department for International Development.

ICS gives volunteers aged 18-22 the opportunity to spend three life-changing months working on projects designed to bring about lasting change.
