Strengthening the voice of communities to engage in policy discourses and to affect systemic change is a vital component of our work. We are committed to empowering national and international volunteers to contribute towards development and promote active citizenship. Volunteering is an important tool to increase understanding and awareness of the issues faced by the communities we work with. We believe it can be used as a vital tool to engage the global north on meaningful development discourses.
Volunteer Space
Skillshare International (India) Trust is delighted to be working in partnership with France Volontaires to set up a unique Volunteer Space in India. A centre has been set up as well as an online virtual community to support volunteers in their work, provide information and assist volunteers working in India.
International Volunteering
We are part of a consortia of development organisations providing the DFIF funded International Citizen Service (ICS). ICS is a youth volunteering programme, enabling 18 -25 year olds to spend 10 weeks volunteering overseas alongside local volunteers. Skillshare ICS volunteers work on our Coaching for Hope programme in South Africa, Lesotho and Botswana.
